At the Village this weekend, we had a guest preacher named Tullian Tchividjian. The point of his sermon was to remind us that Jesus+Nothing=Everything. Christian narcissism is a topic that he covered and how dangerous it can be to our faith, and this lesson was a reminder on how to diminish that. This life is not about us and our desires, our "good works" are not what makes us worthy of grace, and we have to remember Jesus loves us no matter what. The Village has all of their sermons on their website, or you can get the podcast on iTunes. I would highly encourage you to go and listen to this sermon. It was definitely something that I needed to hear!
At the end of his sermon he read a declaration called The Fellowship of the Unashamed. I absolutely love the words in this and I think it is something that we need to be reminded of every single day.
On the right side of the blog there is an icon called The Story. Matt posted it on here about a month ago. Basically it is a short-version story of The Gospel. Our desire is to "promote lives changed through the Gospel of Jesus Christ", and this is one small way that we can do that. Feel free to link this to your own blog. There is also an app now for the iPhone that you can download in case you want to share:)
