WARNING: If you are not a teacher, you probably won't care about this post!
Most of you know that this is my first year teaching. I have made MANY anchor charts and posters this year. I am on Pinterest all the time looking for new ideas--and believe me...there are a LOT of great ideas on there. The other day it hit me that I've been looking for everyone elses ideas, without sharing any of my own. Since I do have a blog, I thought I would share on here some of the anchor charts and posters that we've made. These all hang on the wall in my classroom. If you're a teacher, I hope this gives you some new ideas! Hopefully I will post more often about lessons, ideas I have, and things that I am teaching in my room. Enjoy! :)

| I taught this song to my kiddos at the beginning of the year. It was a song that the previous 3rd Grade Math teacher used and I LOVED it! (To the tune of the Addams Family) |
 |
| The first picture is a rap that we learned for Rounding. The kids LOVE it! I see them singing it all the time when they are working on a problem. This second poster is a visual I made to keep on my wall. When the kids hear a word like estimate, round, etc. we all make a siren noise so they can clue in on how to solve the problem. |
Thank you for your awesome anchor charts! I hope you don't mind, but I pinned them on Pinterest.
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting these. They are awesome. Given that you mentioned STAAR, you're obviously in Texas, too. Are you starting to feel the pressure like the rest of us???
ReplyDeleteLooooove seeing the Thinking Maps. It's good to know there are other districts using them, not just ours :)
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE your anchor charts and thinking maps. I am a third grade teacher too, and have stolen a few ideas from you. Thanks so much for sharing! Keep 'em coming :o)
ReplyDeleteLOVE!

thanks I will teach that to my kids!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the anchor charts for fractions! One of your favorites = one of my least favorites! I added a link to your blog to my own blog. (I have the same floral background...great minds?) We 3rd grade teachers need to stick together!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing! I've been teaching for 15 years and am in need of new inspiration. I so appreciate your charts and your sharing! Great ideas!!!
ReplyDeletePosters are of great help especially to students. They could easily memorize multiplication numbers and other mathematical operations through frequently looking at posters.
ReplyDeletelove it ! awesome job on these excellent visuals
ReplyDeleteAmazing job. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThese are great! I have actually worked for Thinking Maps, Inc. for 20 years and love the application of the maps in Math. The first example is three "Bridge Maps" not "brace maps." I thought you may want to make that correction for Thinking Maps teachers viewing and downloading these charts.

ReplyDeleteI use that rounding rap too. I found it on you tube. The kids seemed to understand the rules for rounding better from rapping!!
ReplyDeletewhat kind of markers do you use?

ReplyDeletewow!! Totally love your ideas!! Praise God!! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteYou have the gift! Awesome!
ReplyDeleteI have a question... Do you create new achor charts every year? Mine are so basic and not as good as yours. Your are so good and colorful that made me think if you recycle them for the next school year or if you start from scratch every year.
Thanks for sharing! : )
Greetings and thank-you for sharing your knowledge with me. I am very grateful and appreciate your clever insight to making learning fun. I like the title anchor posters because we need to anchor this knowledgw into our students. They all have different levels and abilities in our classesand are unique individuals. I am grateful you have choosen to share your gift of knowledge with us.
ReplyDeleteLove the anchor charts! Thanks for sharing. The only concern I have is that we have been trained to say renaming or regrouping because 'borrowing' and 'carrying' are incorrect terms.
